The present Ostheimer collection of animals in field and forest was established as an alternative to plastic toys. Guided by the educational philosophy of the Waldorf movement, the company designs each animal figure to be expressive rather than realistically detailed, stimulating the childrens imagination and involving the child in the creation of a fantasy world.
